I leave California for Ann Arbor soon. I met a couple people who live in Willits at a party in Cobb. I visited them. They had a book by Terrence Mckenna that was pretty interesting. I only read the introduction and part of the first chapter. In that short space, he said the drug cartels were started by the government and he said the reason the human brain grew compared to our ape ancestors was because we started to ingest psychoactive plants such as mushrooms. When I get back to Ann Arbor I plan to go to tai chi class and yoga class as often as I can. I hope I have a new set of mystical experiences and realizations. It seems my old experiences at Buddhist centers and yoga centers and all my experiences meditating had no lasting impact. Perhaps I am just chasing temporary experiences. But if nothing is permanent, then I might as well make my temporary experiences as joyful as possible. I've been doing some art since I got to California. I don't think I will ever be able to make a living at it. My doubt makes my art teacher who is my uncle upset.
